Thailand’s Entry Requirements May 2022

Craving warm beaches, a cold Chang, and some Thai food? We’ve got some good news for you. From 1 May 2022, Thailand is reopening its doors to travelers without all the hustle and bustle. Here’s what you need to know:
Pre-arrival requirements
Documents required for vaccinated travelers entering Thailand:
A valid passport
Thailand Pass (apply via https://tp.consular.go.th/) or a Border Pass for arrivals via border checkpoints
COVID-19 insurance with coverage of at least US$10,000
COVID-19 Vaccination certification
Notes:
Travelers over 18 years of age must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before traveling to Thailand
Travelers 5-17 years of age traveling to Thailand unaccompanied must have at least 1 dose of vaccination at least 14 days before traveling to Thailand except for those traveling with parents
Travelers with at least 1 dose of vaccination and have a history of COVID-19 must have a medical certificate of COVID-19 recovery
Documents required for Unvaccinated or not fully-vaccinated travelers entering Thailand:
A valid passport
Thailand Pass (apply via https://tp.consular.go.th/), or a Border Pass for arrivals via border checkpoints
COVID-19 insurance with coverage of at least US$10,000
A proof of prepayment for a 5-night quarantine at a government-approved hotel: SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) hotel, or AQ Accommodation
Proof of payment for 1 RT-PCR COVID-19 test
Quarantine is exempt for unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated travelers who provide proof of a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel via the Thailand Pass system. The exemption also extends to travelers under 6 years of age traveling with parents

On Arrival Requirements
Upon arrival, all travelers must undergo entry screening including a body temperature check, and present the required documents listed above to the Immigration/Health Control officer.
Vaccinated Travelers
Vaccinated travelers are free to go anywhere in the kingdom.
Unvaccinated Travelers
Unvaccinated / not fully-vaccinated travelers who have provided proof of a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel via the Thailand Pass system are free to go anywhere in the kingdom.
Those without proof of a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel must undergo quarantine for a period of 5 days. The trip to the pre-booked accommodation must be by a prearranged vehicle on a sealed route within a traveling time of no longer than 5 hours. Once at the quarantine hotel, all travelers must undergo an RT-PCR test on days 4-5. Travelers with negative RT-PCR test results are will be allowed to go anywhere in the kingdom while those who test positive will be referred for appropriate medical treatment. Expenses of further medical treatment must be covered by the required insurance or at their own expense.
