Healthy eating

A Guide to Healthy Eating in Phuket, Thailand: Our top 5 places to visit!

Phuket, Thailand has no shortage of laid back beach cafés and diverse street food, but when it comes to food that make you feel good from the inside out—fresh, thoughtfully prepared—a few standout spots are redefining what “healthy eating” really means. If you consider yourself health-conscious, a lover of yoga and mindfulness, a digital nomad always on the move or just someone trying to balance vacation indulgence with mindful eating — this guide is for you. We’re rounding up Phuket’s top healthy restaurants, including one magical rooftop that mixes clean eating, community with stunning views all together. From garden eateries to poolside rooftops and hydroponic cafés, here are five must-visit restaurants in Phuket where health-conscious dining feels anything but boring. Here’s our go-to guide to the best healthy restaurants in Phuket. Let’s dig in! O-OH Farm Suanluang At O-OH Farm close to Suanlunag Park, the soil and plate are in proximity as the vegetables flourish just beyond the window. This is the farm itself, not just a farm-to-table concept. The dining area with a greenhouse theme creates the perfect atmosphere for conversations, and the hydroponic gardens share their sustainability and care. Enter a space that appears to combine a greenhouse and a café. The tall glass windows let in a lot of sunlight. It’s clean and peaceful. Close to Suanluang Park, Phuket Town | Open daily, 7 AM – 9 PM WeCafe Samkong Samkong District, Phuket | Daily, 10 AM – 10 PM WeCafe Samkong is a place where digital nomads carve out their niches, locals gather over cold pressed juice, and families learn that healthy dining can also be flavorful. The outdoor garden area is particularly perfect during the quieter times in Phuket. It’s the place where morning coffee transitions into afternoon work sessions, where children make friends while parents engage in conversation, and where the process of creating your own salad becomes a moment of intentional decision-making We recommend the cold-pressed juices which are not only nutritious, they’re tasty. Their vegan treats aren’t just plant-based, they’re irresistible! Hosay Bowl Chaofa West Road close to Central Floresta | Every day, 8 AM – 8 PM Hosay Bowl is all about good vibes and even better bowls, a fusion of Hawaiian poke and bold Thai flavors. Every bite is packed with freshness, crafted from handpicked ingredients that fuel your body and lift your spirit. It’s food that’s homemade, heart-made, and made to make you feel amazing. We recommend the Salmon bowl full of yummy, delicious fresh ingredients! Wandee Steak Salad T Bar Cherngtalay, Thalang District | Every day, 11 AM – 9 PM Occasionally, the greatest spots are those that don’t put in excessive effort. Wandee Steak Salad T Bar demonstrates that eating healthily can be simple—only using genuine, high-quality ingredients cooked with care. The garden-like setting gives you an ideal ambiance for those more relaxed times. It’s a place where post-workout meals turn into social events, where you can order grilled salmon atop organic greens (which we love) and be reminded that eating well isn’t a chore but something to be enjoyed. Quality ingredients, real cooking, and a welcoming vibe are precisely what you require. Mingle Eatery & Poolside, HOMA Cherngtalay At Mingle Eatery & Poolside, it’s not just about the rooftop views, it’s about the way this place brings people together, from Sunday Family Lunches to Ladies’ Night. These are the components that spark the conversations and connection while having the Buddha bowl by the pool. This place understands that healthy eating is a way of living, not just the trend. When you dine at Mingle, you are not just having a meal, you are becoming part of a community that values wellness and the simple pleasure of good food shared with good people. Start your day with Breakfast Bowls loaded with superfoods and morning coffee to fuel your energy up. Then, discover the VIKASA Life Café menu at Mingle Eatery — full of delicious vegan options to support a healthy and holistic lifestyle. From the Mango Magic Salad with avocado, mango carpaccio, curried cashews and mango tamarind dressing, to Summer Rolls with teriyaki tempeh and creamy almond ginger dip, every dish is bursting with flavor. Or cool down with smoothie favorites like Choco Master, Purple Power, and Tropical Goddess. Being healthy doesn’t mean being boring!  On top of that, VIKASA’s wellness programs offer more ways to elevate your lifestyle. You can start with the Begin Program to find balance and reduce stress with Recharge, or take your yoga journey further with Deepen, there’s a path for every stage of your wellness journey. As the sun sets, just end your day with the setting that shifts to a cozy vibe with health-conscious drinks and stunning rooftop views. Eat Smart, Feel Better – A Special Clubhouse at HOMA Phuket Town Healthy eating isn’t just about where you dine—it’s also about understanding why it matters. Phuket in the Rainy Season: Family-Friendly Things to Do & See

Phuket in the Rainy Season: Family-Friendly Things to Do & See

The first heavy raindrop of Phuket’s rainy season is not the end of family activities, but it is the beginning of something different. While travel guides suggest avoiding May to October, HOMA’s co-living rental homes sees it differently. This is when Phuket, Thailand evolves from a busy spot into a quieter island where meaningful experiences take place. The rainy season discloses a fresh perspective of this southern island. Instead of being Phuket’s slower period, these months give another personality of the island. Local coffee shops become regular stop points, creative spaces welcome more community and places like HOMA which are pet-friendly and centered around community are filled with the natural conversation that helps residents become something together. Café-Hopping in Phuket Forget rushing between beach activities. Rainy season is about seizing moments, and Phuket’s café scene is perfectly designed for this slower rhythm. Imagine settling into a cozy corner while your kids discover new board games, steam rises from your coffee cup, and the rain creates a natural soundtrack outside. – RestDay Coffee Bar & Bake House in Phuket Town lives up to its name – it’s where time stands still in the best possible way.  – GRAPH Phuket, located in the middle of Phuket Town, gives a more contemporary vibe. It is a joint where even the most discerning coffee enthusiasts (yes, even the teenage ones) can appreciate the craft behind every cup. – Kanin Cafe Phuket is the go-to spot for rainy day setup with quality coffee for parents, safe play areas for kids, and covered spaces that let families enjoy their outing regardless of showers. – People Coffee and Stories at HOMA Cherngtalay isn’t just a café – it’s the heart of a community. When you’re sipping your perfectly crafted latte while your kids make friends with other young residents, you’re not just having coffee, you’re becoming part of a welcoming neighborhood. The conversations that start over morning coffee often continue at evening community events. HOMA Tips: Pack a puzzle or card game and turn your café visit into a low-key afternoon adventure. These spots have comfy corners perfect for family game time, and HOMA’s communal areas provide the same cozy atmosphere when you want to stay close to home. Get Creative Indoors with the Family The rain gives you the perfect excuse to embrace creativity without worrying about schedules. Local art studios become the places where families can create lasting memories while supporting Phuket’s artistic community. At Sitao Studio in Old Phuket Town, watch your children’s eyes light up as they shape clay on the potter’s wheel. There’s something deeply satisfying about creating something with your hands while the rain patterns outside – it’s meditative for parents and magical for kids. Fain Paint Bar turns art into creativity combining with social connection. Even if your artistic skills peaked in kindergarten, their “paint and sip” experiences prove that the joy is in the process, not the masterpiece. Sea Scape House Cafe’ & Art is another creative joint where families can explore their artistic sides while enjoying refreshments in a relaxed atmosphere. Don’t miss HOMA’s own resident-led art or cooking nights – check the updates on these special sessions where neighbors become teachers or if you want to host the clubhouse, feel free to share your interesting topic with us by DMing us @hello.homa Wellness That Includes Everyone on the the Island The rainy season is nature’s reminder to turn inward. It is the perfect time for family wellness activities. This is where VIKASA Wellness‘ partnership with HOMA becomes invaluable – the programs are designed for all experience levels, creating opportunities for parents and children to explore mindfulness together. There’s something peaceful about practicing yoga while listening to tropical rain, especially when you know you can continue the wellness journey back at HOMA’s facilities. The synergy between VIKASA’s expert instruction and HOMA’s community-focused amenities means your family’s wellness practice doesn’t end when class does – it becomes integrated into your daily life. Movie Magic: From Cinema to HOMA Community Rainy days in Phuket shift the rhythm of family life. A trip to SF Cinema at Central Festival has become a family tradition. No crowds at the beach, no pressure to chase the sun — just popcorn, a big screen, and time well spent together. Here at HOMA, we turn Tuesday nights to kids’ movie nights, the weekly heartbeat of our family community. What makes HOMA movie nights different is there is no forced networking or introductions. The rainy season amplifies this, as Tuesday nights become the anchor point around which busy families organize their week. So when the skies turn grey, press play. Whether you’re heading out for a family blockbuster or joining your neighbors in HOMA’s common space for a kids’ classic, movie time becomes together time. Just add blankets, snacks and your favorite crew for some real good vibes! The Slow Mornings and Cozy Afternoons in Phuket When was the last time your family had nowhere urgent to be? The rainy season gifts you these precious pockets of time. Build blanket forts in your apartment, start a family journal documenting your rainy day adventures, or simply enjoy the moment of reading together without feeling like you’re wasting perfect beach weather. There’s something special about a rainy day with a good book. Grab a few from the Phuket Public Library, located in Phuket Town, or build a reading corner in your apartment. Add some snacks, and you’ve got a perfect afternoon. Embracing the Slower Days in Phuket At HOMA, every season has its own specialness – even the rainy ones. The truth is, some of the best family moments happen when you stop trying to control the weather and start embracing what it offers. The rainy season challenges the typical tropical vacation. Because sometimes the best adventures happen when you’re not chasing the sun – you’re simply enjoying wherever you are, rain and all. Instead of endless sunshine, it offers something more valuable. So when those first

Luca Dotti

People of HOMA – Meet Luca Dotti

Meet Luca Dotti, the Founder and Managing Director of HOMA. Originally from Italy, he comes from a city called Modena in the northern part of the country where it’s famous for fast cars and slow food. After finishing his degree in Engineering, Luca moved to Asia in 2009 and has been hopping between Singapore and Thailand ever since. Let’s get to know him a bit more. Luca is a father to Mia and a dog-dad to Enzo. He’s a football fanatic and a true Rossoneri ????⚫️. In his free time, he enjoys doing outdoor activities and playing sports. You can witness his finishing skills on the pitch every Wednesday at HOMA Football Club. Coming from Italy, we can all guess that Luca’s favorite dish is something Italian and we are correct. His all-time favorite is his mom’s homemade lasagna (lasagne di mamma). Since 2013, Luca has been developing properties and building apartments, mostly here in Phuket. Through his extensive background in the real estate industry, he has built a great understanding of the needs of young professionals when renting apartments. This experience has ultimately become the base concept for establishing HOMA. What makes HOMA unique? The seeds of HOMA were planted around 2016/17 and have been evolving ever since. What differentiates HOMA from other properties is the way it is managed. Because all the inventory is controlled by one designated team, the property is able to manage and run community events freely. By having shared living spaces and hosting regular social events, HOMA fosters a collective environment where making friends and meeting new people is easy – something that regular condos cannot offer due to different ownerships. Luca on the co-living concept One of the most attractive features of HOMA is the co-living experience that is delivered through community programming. Through simple events like HOMA Football Club, monthly networking events, and movie nights, HOMA is able to provide a platform in which the residents can connect with each other. This helps build a harmonious society within the property which ultimately generates a better living experience. When you are living at HOMA, you are not just renting a room but you are a part of a larger community of like-minded people. After HOMA Phuket Town opened its doors in 2021, it has been a great journey for the whole team. With HOMA Si Racha opening at the end of 2022, and a 3rd project coming soon in Cherngtalay (the other side of Phuket island), the ultimate goal is to keep HOMA and its community growing. In the near future, we will soon see HOMA’s unique living concept in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and other major cities throughout Southeast Asia. More about Luca Of all the amenities throughout the property, the swimming pool is Luca’s favorite. On sunny days, he would head up to the pool around lunchtime to do some laps while enjoying the view. During his free time, Luca opts to spend quality time with his family and his dog, Enzo (who we will get to know soon!). He’s an Italian chef during the weekends who loves going to the beach, swimming in the ocean, and doing outdoor activities. Apart from ViVa Restaurant on HOMA’s rooftop, Luca chooses Raya and Tu Kab Kao when craving a good Thai meal. But if you’re looking for something more modern and Western, he highly recommends HEH which is just down the road from HOMA. One last thing about Luca is that he’s passionate about dogs (if you haven’t noticed already). When asked about what kind of animal he could be, Luca would choose to be a Labrador (like Enzo). When asked why he responded; “I love dogs for their loyalty, the way they become a part of a family, and also the emotions that can transmit to humans.” Luca emphasizes the importance that pets have on humans and our everyday lives. For this reason, it was his wish to make HOMA the first living complex in Phuket Town to be pet-friendly. As of this writing, we have over 30+ dogs and cats within the complex. You can read more about them in our Pets of HOMA blog section. Don’t forget to say ‘ciao!’ to Luca when meeting him at HOMA, at the swimming pool, or on the football field. He’s generally very friendly as long as you don’t remind him about Italy not making it to the World Cup! #PeopleofHOMA If you’re interested in participating in an article like this, feel free to reach out to marketing@homa.co
